Home again, home again, with my laptop....

What a great time I've had, and what great people and Duckies I've met, but what fun to be back home again !!
And guess who were waiting for me at home ??? My brother and sisters and....little Chihuahua Dreaming !! We talked the whole night about my World Tour.
I am so happy I took my laptop so I could have some cyberspace adventures in between my own adventures.
I discovered new internet sites as well as real sites (like the streets in Ghana or the surf on Hawaii)
Fantastic internet sites were Flickr Toys (fun to play with); LibraryThing
(I should go and organise my own books on line now); Technorati (checking out other Duckieblogs was interesting)and Youtube(specially now my favourite little doggie has a youtube!)
Would I use these sites again?? I am sure now I am familiar with these new possibilities, I would use some of them again, but the biggest pain of it all was: PASSWORDS; USERNAMES....
But, I will visit my friends at the Library as soon as I am over my jetlag and tell them and the patrons all about these exciting places (in the world and in cyberspace)

Audiobooks on the Antarctic

Nearly home !!
This World Tour just flew !!
After saying goodbye to all my friends at Schiphol Airport, I took a plane to the Antarctic. I have some good pinguin friends there and I promised them a visit. Although they live in large groups, they do get a bit lonely and feel a bit isolated so now and then. I promised them to download a number of audiobooks for their MP3 players. You should have seen how happy they were. I went to the World E-book fair and found some interesting books on the Antarctic, but also my favourite Fairy Tale "The ugly Duckling". Now, every time the little pinguins go to bed (between Daddy's feet) they are allowed to listen to one Fairy Tale !!
And me? I am on my way home !!

Lame Duck Podcast

Still in Holland and eating lots of licorice and cheese...
I have just listened to my favourite podcast: it's a pub quiz from my cousin Lame Duck. Well, his real name is Rupert, but after he opened a pub and and consumed too much of his own beverages locals started to call him 'Lame Duck'. The name stuck...
Every week he has a pub quiz in a small country town in Great Britain. I love doing the quiz and it is in my bloglines account of course.
I have no time visiting him this trip, so I just talked to him on Skype, also a great invention from this century.

Klompendans on Youtube

Clogdancing was fantastic. I made a little filmclip for Youtube as you can see. I tried my best to fit in a pair of clogs, but was not succesful. So I urged them to go ahead and do their dancing without me. I enjoyed being a spectator for once, instead of being on stage !!
By the way, the Dutch have a wicked sense of humor, just look at this youtube clip: it's an ad about learning English....Have fun...

Web 2.0 Awards & Travel

Busy, busy, busy...Have to attend a clog dance tonight and am organizing the next leg of my world tour. Lucky I found the travel site Kayak. It helps me heaps with booking flights, so convenient !! It is one of the winners of the Web 2.0 Awards.
Surfing that site, I noticed my fav retail site Etsy is one of the winners as well. I ordered a beautiful handmade notebook from Austria recently through Etsy, it is my travel log !!
Well, have to go and do some Dutch Cheese tasting now...

ZoHo-Ho and a bottle of...Heineken !!

I have finally arrived in Holland, (after a short holiday in Vanuatu, wonderful, but no photos of that holiday as I went incognito...)
Just had a look at Zoho and Google Docs. If somebody is going to ask me ONE MORE TIME "what is your log in/password?,I am going to QUACK!!
Picasa, picture sharing, spreadsheets and calendars....It sounds all great, but I think I am going to put an ad in the paper for a new manager, wouldn't that be much easier. A manager knows my name, and would not ask everyday what my password is...
But of course, if you can't afford a manager (=if you are not as successful as me) you have to rely on ZoHo. (Also, Zoho is no threat to Microsoft word....
Just had some cool beer amongst the tulips, Cheers !!

My Article in the Ghana Weekly !!

I have given the Ghana Weekly an exclusive interview. Usually I don't bother too much with interviews. All they usually want to know is how my love life is...but the Ghana Weekly has been very kind to me with giving me lots of positive publicity.
I have been taking and giving workshops at the School of Performing Arts in Legon. It is all quite exciting, I taught them some Aussie songs like " Quack go the shears, boys, quack, quack, quack" and they showed me some real Ghanese songs like "Nnwonkoro" accompanied with dance and drums. It looked so good, they must be born with rhythm in their blood. No matter how I flapped my wings, I was always flapped out of beat with the dancers. Wonder how I will be Clog dancing next week in Holland !!
